Description of Business:

KD Auto Parts Pty Ltd is located at 350 Lower Dandenong Road, Mordialloc VIC 3195. The business urgently requires a General Motor Mechanic to support its daily operations and ensure the effective servicing, maintenance, and repair of customer vehicles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles.
2. Inspect engines and mechanical/electrical components to accurately diagnose issues.
3. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and filter replacements.
4. Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty components such as brakes, suspension systems, and exhaust systems.
5. Carry out major repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and electrical system repairs.

Test vehicle systems after repairs or maintenance to ensure correct functionality.
7. Conduct test drives to verify the effectiveness and safety of completed repairs.
8. Follow all workplace safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
9. Adhere to proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste.
10. Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed, including parts used and services completed.
11. Communicate with customers to understand vehicle issues, provide repair estimates, and explain repair procedures and recommendations clearly and professionally.

Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:

Education : Certificate III or Certificate IV or Diploma

Australian Experience : At least 3 + years of Australian Experience OR

Overseas Experience : At least 3+ years of Overseas Experience

Specialist : General Motor Mechanic

Work Rights : Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or Full Work Rights Holder
