About the Business

LA MON PTY LTD, trading as Shingle Inn, is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join its team at Shingle Inn Hyperdome in Loganholme, Queensland. The successful applicant will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, maintaining food quality and presentation, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook food in accordance with menu requirements, recipes and established quality standards.
- Plan and organise daily food preparation to meet customer demand and service requirements.
- Monitor the quality, freshness, portion sizes and presentation of food.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of food items where required.
- Monitor stock levels, order ingredients and ensure supplies are stored appropriately.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ensure food is handled,



prepared and stored in accordance with relevant food safety standards.
- Minimise food wastage and maintain productive use of ingredients and kitchen resources.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and consistent food service.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance or operational issues.

Skills and Experience

- Relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food storage practices.
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality in a busy hospitality environment.
- Good time management, organisation and teamwork skills.
- Relevant cookery qualifications will be well regarded.
