We are seeking an experienced and motivated Major Accounts Manager to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a lighting professional who is passionate about building strong client relationships, managing major projects, and delivering cutting-edge lighting solutions. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for managing key customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, supporting project delivery, and providing expert lighting advice across a range of commercial and industrial projects. This role will suit a highly driven individual with strong technical lighting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop lasting relationships with customers, consultants, architects, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and grow key customer accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, architects, suppliers and branch teams.
- Identify and pursue project opportunities from specification through to completion.
- Prepare and assist with lighting designs and project proposals.
- Provide technical advice and product recommendations.
- Monitor and manage project values, margins and profitability.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant lighting standards and Green Star requirements.
- Visit customers and branch locations as required.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Resolve customer and project-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
About you
- Strong knowledge of the lighting industry.
- Excellent lighting product knowledge.
- Understanding of Green Star requirements, Australian Standards and current industry trends.
- Experience using DIALux and/or AGi32 lighting design software.
- Proven experience in project value management.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, consultants, architects and colleagues.
