At Harmony Vision Optometry & Vision Therapy Clinic, we take the time to understand our patients and how vision affects their everyday lives. We’re looking for an optical dispenser or optical assistant who shares that curiosity and enjoys making people feel welcome, informed and cared for.

We’re an independent practice serving Gold Coast families since 2003. Our work includes children’s vision, myopia management, contact lenses and vision therapy. You’ll work closely with our optometrists and vision therapists, helping patients of all ages throughout their care.

Children and families are a big part of our practice. We dispense glasses to many children, including infants and toddlers. Helping a child find a comfortable, well-fitting frame—and helping their parents feel confident about caring for their glasses—is a rewarding part of this role.

About the role

You’ll help patients feel comfortable from their first enquiry through to collecting their glasses and attending follow-up appointments. Depending on your experience and training, your responsibilities will include:

- Welcoming patients,



answering enquiries and managing appointments.

- Helping adults and children choose frames and understand lens options suited to their needs.

- Taking optical measurements, ordering and checking spectacles, and providing adjustments and minor repairs.

- Helping parents with the practicalities of their child’s glasses, including fit, care and adjustments as they grow.

- Coordinating contact lens orders and teaching lens handling and care following training.

- Assisting optometrists with preliminary testing and digital imaging.

- Processing payments, maintaining accurate and confidential records, and following up orders.

- Keeping the practice organised, well presented and running smoothly.

About you

You’re approachable, reliable and interested in understanding what people need. You listen carefully, explain things clearly and take pride in getting the details right.

You’ll bring:

- A warm, patient manner and an enjoyment of working with children and families.

- Initiative and a willingness to help across different areas of the practice.

- The ability to stay organised and prioritise when several things need attention.

- Confidence using computers and learning new systems.

- A practical interest in developing your knowledge and skills.

Optical dispensing qualifications or optical experience are highly valued, particularly experience fitting glasses for children. We also welcome applications from people with relevant healthcare, reception or customer service experience who are keen to learn. Responsibilities and training will reflect your experience.
