We've partnered with one of Australia's leading educational institutions to find a proactive Executive Assistant to support the General Counsel in a varied and high-impact role.
Joining a dynamic, high-performing and forward-thinking team, you'll play a pivotal role in managing complex priorities, building solid stakeholder relationships and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. This is a fast-paced opportunity offering genuine autonomy, exposure and plenty of scope to take ownership.
This is far from your traditional Executive Assistant role.
Working within a highly regarded and forward-thinking team, you'll provide high-level support to the General Counsel while working closely with the Senior Manager and broader Legal Support Team.
Operating much like an external law firm within a large institutional environment, the team is dynamic, commercially minded and constantly evolving. With a portfolio spanning legal, compliance, policy and broader university matters, no two days are quite the same.
We're looking for an EA who enjoys being at the centre of the action, can confidently hold their own with senior stakeholders and takes genuine pride in making an executive's day run seamlessly.
What you'll be doing
- Providing proactive, high-level executive support, including complex diary management, meeting coordination and prioritisation of competing demands.
- Acting as the trusted first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, building robust relationships and representing senior leadership with professionalism and confidence.
- Anticipating needs,
identifying potential challenges and resolving issues independently before they escalate.
- Coordinating sensitive correspondence, briefing papers, reports, meetings and communications.
- Managing travel arrangements, expenses and administrative processes with exceptional attention to detail.
- Supporting operational activities, projects and process improvements across the broader Office of General Counsel.
- Embracing new technologies, systems and ways of working to improve efficiency.
- Contributing to a collaborative and engaged team culture, including internal initiatives and social activities.
About you
You're an intelligent, switched-on and resourceful EA who thrives when things are moving quickly. You enjoy autonomy, think ahead and know how to exercise sound judgement without needing constant direction.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives in a busy, complex and professional environment.
- Exceptional diary management skills and the ability to anticipate priorities before they become urgent.
- A confident, polished and engaging communication style, with the ability to build rapport across all levels.
- A solutions-focused mindset,
resilience and the ability to remain composed when priorities shift.
- Strong initiative, sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions independently.
- Excellent organisational skills, discretion and attention to detail.
- An adaptable approach and genuine curiosity about technology, AI and new ways of working.
Experience in legal or professional services would be highly regarded, but is by no means essential. We're equally interested in meeting ambitious EAs from other fast-paced environments who are ready to take the next step in their careers.
What's on offer?
- $117,000-$127,000 + 17% superannuation.
- The opportunity to work closely with senior leadership within one of Australia's leading education institutions.
- A sophisticated, fast-paced environment offering greater variety and exposure than a traditional EA position.
- A collaborative and socially engaged team that values initiative, professionalism and fresh ideas.
- Exposure to evolving technologies, systems and operational improvements.
- A genuine opportunity to take ownership of your role and make a meaningful contribution.
Location: Sydney | Five days onsite
If you're an EA who enjoys a challenge, thrives on being one step ahead and is ready for a role where your contribution will be genuinely valued, we'd love to hear from you.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
