- Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract

- $37.86 per hours + superannuation and entitlements

- 8 days on, 6 days off work pattern

Looking for a practical role where every shift contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable community? This is an opportunity to join Wodonga Council’s Resource Recovery Centre in a hands-on position combining site operations, customer service, material recovery and safe equipment use.

Key Accountabilities

- Hands-on resource recovery
Recover and separate recyclable and reusable materials, maintain site standards and support the safe day-to-day operation of the Resource Recovery Centre. The work is practical and physically active, requiring regular movement around the facility, work on uneven surfaces and duties in outdoor conditions.

- Customer guidance and service
Assist customers to navigate the facility, understand disposal requirements and make the right decisions about recycling and waste separation. This includes providing clear advice, managing routine enquiries and professionally discussing matters such as load size, disposal options and applicable costs.

- Safe plant and site operations
Operate authorised plant, equipment and tools in line with procedures and licence requirements, monitor equipment condition and report defects or maintenance needs. Consistent attention to personal protective equipment, hazards, incidents and safe work practices is central to the role.

- Flexible operational support
Contribute across a broad range of operational activities, including transactions, data entry,

record keeping, litter collection, street sweeping and relief duties when required. Priorities can change across the roster, so reliability, adaptability and a willingness to support the wider City Services operation are important.

- Confidence using computers and digital systems for transactions, data entry and record keeping
