The Junior Data Solutions Engineer is an emerging technical specialist who supports Citadel Edge's Data Solution Architects in the design, delivery, and operation of modern data platforms and analytics solutions.

Working across both client engagements and internal initiatives, this role combines technical delivery, stakeholder engagement, and platform support responsibilities. You will assist in workshops, requirements gathering, solution design activities, and the implementation of data platform capabilities while developing deeper expertise across the full Information Delivery Platform (IDP) technology stack.

This role provides an opportunity to work directly with government and enterprise clients while gaining practical experience in data engineering, platform administration, analytics, governance, and up-to-date cloud-based data architectures. You will work closely with Data Solution Architects, Solution Architects, Delivery Managers, and client stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of data-driven outcomes.

What’s The Role?

- Support Data Solution Architects during technical engagements and discovery sessions.





- Assist with requirements gathering, documentation and solution design activities.

- Assist in the implementation and configuration of data platform components across the IDP stack.

- Support data ingestion, transformation, and integration activities.

- Configure and maintain data pipelines and data movement processes.

- Assist with environment setup, deployment activities, and platform upgrades.

- Support data quality, lineage, and governance activities.

- Troubleshoot platform issues and work with senior architects to resolve technical challenges.

- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.

- Assist with the preparation of datasets for reporting and advanced analytics.

- Support business intelligence initiatives using modern analytics platforms.

- Assist Government client and internal Citadel Edge teams with operational activities.

- Help maintain internal data environments and reporting capabilities.

- Develop expertise across the complete IDP ecosystem.

- Contribute to delivery accelerators, templates, and reusable components.

- Remain current with evolving technologies, platform capabilities, and industry best practices.

- Participate in training, certifications, and professional development programs.

- Build broad technical capability across data engineering, analytics and reporting,



modern data platform, cloud and infrastructure, and governance and security, with guidance and support from senior team members.

What’s Your Edge?

- Australian Government security clearance or ability to obtain one.

- 1-4 years’ experience in data, analytics, software development or platform administration roles.

- Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases and ETL/ELT.

- Experience with at least one reporting or analytics platform.

- Ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders demonstrating strong communication skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

- Exposure to Cloudera or Snowflake technologies (desirable).

- Experience with Power BI or Tableau (desirable).

- Exposure to working with government data environments (desirable).

- Exposure to data governance and information management practices (desirable).

- Understanding of modern data architecture concepts including data pipeline, medallion data architecture, data warehouse & data lake (desirable).

- Relevant cloud, analytics or data certifications (desirable).
