The Opportunity

Join PJ SAS Trading, an established family-owned wholesale business, and help bring a diverse range of products to market.

We’re looking for an organised, proactive Category Assistant to support our Buying and Marketing teams. You’ll join a collaborative, energetic team that values initiative, fresh ideas and a practical approach to getting things done.

This varied role covers buying administration, supplier communication, packaging artwork and shipment coordination. Working alongside experienced category managers, you’ll also gain exposure to product selection, range planning and the commercial decisions behind successful product ranges.

What You'll Do

- Raise and issue purchase orders, confirm details with suppliers and monitor progress

- Support range development and reviews by assessing how potential products complement the existing range

- Assist with product research, competitor pricing checks and sales analysis

- Communicate with international suppliers to follow up on specifications, samples, pricing and production timelines

- Coordinate product samples, approvals and photography requirements

- Prepare packaging briefs and proof artwork with Buying and Marketing, checking that product information is accurate and complete

- Collate and process shipping documents

- Liaise with suppliers,



freight forwarders and the warehouse to coordinate shipments and resolve queries

- Keep track of outstanding information, approvals and deadlines to help orders move forward on time

About you

- At least two years' experience in administration or buying support, merchandising or product coordination, preferably within wholesale or FMCG

- A keen interest in products and a desire to understand what makes a range sell well

- Strong Excel skills and confidence handling pricing, spreadsheets and product data

- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and reliable follow-through

- Clear communication skills and the confidence to ask questions and clarify requirements

- The ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment

- A willingness to learn, respond to feedback and develop your buying knowledge
