Job title: Senior Commercial Manager – Hyperscale Data Centres (Contract)

Work type: Contract/Temp (minimum 6 months, extension possible)

The Opportunity

We're working with a leading hyperscale data centre provider in the Asia Pacific region to find an experienced Senior Commercial Manager for a contract of at least 6 months. The role is based at their Sydney head office.

You'll sit in the Development team and report to the Associate Commercial Director. You'll lead commercial strategy and performance across several large, high-profile hyperscale data centre projects, from pre-contract through delivery to close-out.

What You'll Do

- Lead commercial strategy across multiple hyperscale data centre projects, making sure contract, cost and risk decisions support the business's growth plans

- Lead complex contract negotiations, especially Master Services Agreements (MSAs) with General Contractors and owner-supplied equipment (OSE) vendors, including key terms, departures and risk allocation

- Review, negotiate and execute contracts, with a solid focus on risk allocation and legal soundness

- Oversee cost management, cost reporting, forecasting and cashflow across the portfolio

- Manage commercial risk, claims, variations, contract correspondence and dispute resolution in a practical, outcome-focused way

- Act as the main commercial and contract advisor to the Development, Finance & Treasury,



Legal and Delivery teams

- Improve commercial frameworks, contract templates, governance and reporting across the regional platform

- Visit sites in Australia and overseas for project initiation, reviews, audits, constructability reviews, commissioning and close-out

About You

- 12+ years in senior commercial roles in data centre construction, engineering, major infrastructure or complex development environments

- A track record of leading commercial outcomes on large, high-value projects across the full project lifecycle

- A degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business/Commerce or a related field

- Deep expertise in contract negotiation, claims, dispute resolution, cost planning, forecasting, cashflow and commercial risk management

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise senior leaders

- Commercially sharp, proactive and genuine, and able to build strong relationships across cultures and countries
