The Role

As a Registered Nurse within SAPOL Custody Health Services, you will provide comprehensive nursing care within police custody facilities across metropolitan Adelaide.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting health assessments,



triage and clinical observations
• Determining fitness for custody in partnership with SAPOL officers
• Administering medications and prescribed treatments
• Managing acute and chronic health conditions
• Responding to clinical emergencies and escalating care when required
• Maintaining detailed and accurate clinical documentation
• Liaising with GPs, hospitals and multidisciplinary healthcare providers
• Undertaking forensic procedures where required (full training provided)
• Supporting safe healthcare practices within custody environments

What We're Looking For

We are seeking resilient, adaptable and clinically confident Registered Nurses who excel in independent practice and remain calm under pressure.

Essential Requirements:

✔ Bachelor of Nursing
✔ Current unrestricted AHPRA Registration
✔ Minimum 3 - 5 years' recent Acute Emergency Department experience
✔ Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✔ Ability to work independently as the sole nurse on shift
✔ Full Australian working rights

Various morning, afternoon, night and weekend shifts are available.

Additional Requirements

✔ Current National Police Clearance
✔ Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
✔ Unrestricted South Australian Driver's Licence
✔ Current First Aid, CPR and Manual Handling Certification
✔ Evidence of COVID-19 and Influenza Vaccinations
✔ Experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) presentations highly regarded
