FMA Contracting is seeking a skilled and motivated Dual Trade Electrician & Refrigeration Technician to join our growing team based in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory.

We provide electrical, air conditioning, refrigeration and associated services across a diverse range of sites and facilities. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified dual-trade professional who enjoys hands-on work, fault-finding and working across a variety of systems, including projects in remote communities.

About the Role

Working across residential, commercial and industrial environments, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical

- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and repair work in accordance with applicable electrical standards and regulations.

- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults across residential, commercial and industrial systems.

- Install and maintain electrical wiring, lighting, intercoms and associated electrical equipment.

- Test electrical systems and circuits, identify faults and replace or repair defective components.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

- Install, inspect,



service and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including cold rooms, freezers, chillers, HVAC units and commercial refrigeration equipment.

- Diagnose system faults and carry out effective repairs.

- Perform refrigerant handling, charging and pressure checks in accordance with relevant requirements.

- Conduct preventative maintenance and system performance checks to ensure reliable and efficient operation.

General Responsibilities

- Attend client sites, facilities and remote communities as required.

- Respond to breakdowns and urgent service requests.

- Maintain accurate service reports, job records, materials usage and compliance documentation.

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including participation in toolbox meetings and risk assessments.

- Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and management.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, or equivalent recognised trade qualifications.

- Current unrestricted Electrical Licence.

- Current Refrigerant Handling Licence.

- Current driver's licence.

- Working at Heights certification.





- Elevated Work Platform (EWP) ticket.

- Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) and First Aid qualifications.

- National Police Clearance.

- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).

- Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

- Ability to interpret electrical plans, wiring diagrams and technical service manuals.

- Good time management, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Desirable Experience

The following will be highly regarded:

- Confined Space training and certification.

- Experience with data, security and fire systems.

- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).

- Experience with generators and backup power systems.

- Previous experience working in remote or regional locations.
