Inspired by our commitment to innovation and resident-centred dining, we are seeking a skilled and passionate Catering Assistant to join our team and help redefine the aged care dining experience.The RoleIn this role you will report directly to the Head Chef and play an essential part in our collaborative catering team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations at our Christie Downs site.
As an experienced Catering Assistant/Cook, you will work as a member of our wider kitchen team on a casual basis.
You will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of catering and presentation whilst handling, preparing and storing food, in addition to associated cleaning tasks.




You will demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with food safety standards.What You'll Do And Be Responsible ForAssist with basic food preparation under the direction of the Chef or CookWork in a Chef/Cook capacity when required to support leaveSupport meal plating and service to ensure timely delivery to residentsMaintain a clean, hygienic, and organised kitchen environmentOperate commercial kitchen equipment safelyWash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipmentFollow food safety, infection control, and agedcare standardsWork collaboratively with the catering team to ensure smooth daily operationsWhat You'll Need To SucceedA minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environmentStrong teamwork and communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team-oriented team environment.Understanding of safe food handling practicesKnowledge of dietary requirements specific to Aged CarePrevious experience in a commercial kitchen or aged care settingRelevant qualifications (Cert III or IV Commercial Cookery, Trade Qualification etc) are highly regarded but not essentialTo find out more about us, visit our website
