Gough Plastics is seeking a motivated and experienced Plastics Technician to join our production team in Townsville, QLD.In this hands‐on role, you'll operate and monitor roto moulding ovens, ensuring secure, productive, and high‐quality manufacturing.
You'll play a key part in meeting production targets, maintaining safety standards, and training assistant operators.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor roto moulding ovens in line with production schedulesEnsure safety compliance, including forklift and gantry crane operationsTrain and mentor assistant oven operatorsPerform start‐up/shutdown procedures, complete shift reports,
and maintain production recordsTroubleshoot process faults and recommend improvements to cook times/designsMaintain shop floor organization and cleanliness to 5S standardsConduct preventative maintenance and attend to breakdownsMonitor raw material levels and coordinate workflow to maximize oven utilizationCarry out product inspections (thickness, color, inserts) to ensure qualityWhat We're Looking ForCertificate III in Roto Moulding or 3+ years' experience in oven roto moulding/extrusion/injection mouldingAbility to operate PLC/computer‐controlled ovensSkilled in manual handling and use of hand toolsForklift, EWP, and gantry crane operation (training/tickets provided if required)Robust technical understanding of oven processesKPI‐driven, solution‐focused, and committed to continuous improvementSalary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experienceFulltime Position availableApplications open on 5th October and closes on 5th November
