We're supporting a major data modernisation program.
It needs an experienced Business Analyst with a solid focus on data who is equally comfortable in a requirements workshop and in a technical design discussion about cloud data platforms.What you'll be doingRunning discovery sessions and workshops with business leaders, end users, engineers and product owners to define what the current platform must deliverCapturing needs as user stories, functional designs, process views, wireframes and mock-ups within an Agile delivery modelDefining the non-functional side of a Databricks-based platform on Azure: access control and security, connectivity, ingestion patterns, governance, support model, cost controls, performance and scaleReviewing the current data landscape and helping shape the future-state design, including data flows, lineage, source-to-target mapping and a staged migration planWriting integration specifications between source systems and the platformMaking sure reporting needs, especially Power BI,



are properly reflected in platform designBrokering trade-offs and agreement across competing stakeholder prioritiesWhat you'll bring3+ years as a BA on reporting, BI or data analytics programs (essential)Hands-on involvement in Azure data platform initiatives, ideally with Databricks, ADLS, Data Factory and related Azure servicesConfidence documenting technical and non-functional requirements, not just business onesExperience assessing legacy data environments and contributing to target-state and roadmap workStrong facilitation, negotiation and written communication skillsSolid grounding in Agile ways of workingNice to haveExposure to Unity Catalog, data governance frameworks or platform cost optimisationPrior work on cloud data migrations at enterprise scaleIf you've helped take a data platform from whiteboard to delivery and enjoy being the bridge between business and engineering, we'd like to hear from you.Be careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
