Job Description
Sterling Kershaw & Co is a proud, generational family beekeeping business with a long-standing history of commercial beekeeping throughout Gundaroo area New South Wales. Our family business manages and nurtures over 3,500 production beehives, in addition to our specialised queen breeding hives. We are committed to maintaining healthy, productive colonies through responsible beekeeping practices. The position offers a variety of duties, working both indoors and outdoors.

As part of our team of apiarists, responsibilities include hive management, queen rearing, queen replacement, harvesting and extracting honey, maintaining beekeeping equipment and general maintenance associated with our commercial beekeeping operations. Practical, hands-on training and guidance will be provided to successful applicants, supporting the development of their skills and knowledge in commercial beekeeping. This is a hands-on, full-time position offered on a nine-month fixed-term contract, suited to someone who is reliable, takes initiative,



works well within a team and enjoys a diverse role. Working hours are generally Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for early starts, seasonal demands and occasional weekend work during busy periods, including honey harvesting. Employment Type: Full-time, fixed-term contract-9 months

Classification: Farm and Livestock Hand Level 1 (FLH1) Minimum Weekly Wage: $978.10 gross per week Ordinary Hours: 38 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $25.74 Superannuation: Employer contributions in accordance with current legislative requirements.

Leave Entitlements: Annual leave, personal/carer's leave and other applicable entitlements in accordance with the National Employment Standards.

Additional Payments: Applicable overtime, penalty rates and allowances paid in accordance with the relevant award.
