About the role

Diamond Protection is seeking reliable, safety-focused Spray Team Officers to join our fire season crew at the Hazelwood Power Station site in Morwell.

Spray Team Officers play a key part in reducing fire risk on site during the warmer months. You'll be called in on Fire Rated Days to carry out water spraying and fire prevention activities, helping protect the site, our people and the local community.

This is a casual position for the duration of the fire season, expected to run from November 2026 to March 2027 subject to seasonal conditions.

Key responsibilities

- Operating spray equipment, hoses and water delivery systems across designated areas of the site
- Wetting down exposed surfaces and high-risk areas to reduce ignition and fire spread
- Conducting site patrols and fire watch, and reporting hazards or hot spots promptly




- Carrying out pre-start checks and basic maintenance on equipment and vehicles
- Following site safety procedures, permits and emergency response plans
- Communicating clearly with supervisors and team members via radio
- Completing daily records and shift reports

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current Victorian driver licence (MR/HR licence highly regarded)
- The ability to work outdoors in hot conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
- Availability to start at short notice on Fire Rated Days, including weekends and public holidays
- A strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow instructions
- Valuable communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Highly regarded

- Firefighting experience (CFA, FFMVic or industrial fire crew)
- Experience in mining, power generation or heavy industry
- Current First Aid certificate
- Experience operating water carts, pumps or fire suppression equipment
