We are seeking an experienced, caring Pet Groomer to join our new Canberra salon. You will provide professional grooming services, prioritise animal comfort and safety, and help create a welcoming experience for pets and their owners.

Key responsibilities

Independently complete grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, scissoring, de-shedding and styling

Perform nail trimming, ear cleaning and other routine grooming tasks within your training and experience

Assess each pet's coat condition, temperament and grooming needs before starting

Discuss grooming preferences with owners and explain suitable styles, services and coat maintenance

Handle animals patiently and safely, adjusting your approach for nervous, elderly or sensitive pets

Identify and report skin, coat or other concerns to the owner and salon manager

Keep grooming equipment, workstations and the salon clean, sanitised and organised

Maintain accurate records of grooming instructions,



services provided and relevant pet information

Manage appointments efficiently while maintaining grooming quality and animal welfare

Assist with customer enquiries, check-ins, bookings and retail product advice when required

About you

At least two years of practical pet grooming experience

Ability to independently complete full grooms and common breed styles

Sound knowledge of coat types, grooming techniques and safe animal handling

Solid customer service, communication and time management skills

Reliability, attention to detail and a patient, responsible approach

A genuine interest in animal welfare and working as part of a small team

Weekend availability is required

Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle pets of different sizes

The ability to handle and groom both dogs and cats is highly desirable.
