Market Check is looking for an Operations & Business Analyst to join our team. This is a broad role sitting across trading operations, finance, data, systems and process improvement. You will work closely with different areas of the business, helping ensure our contracts, settlements, positions and reporting are accurate while also identifying ways to improve business processes. We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how a business works, solving problems and taking ownership. Because we are a small team, the role has significant variety and can be shaped over time around the strengths and interests of the successful applicant. Depending on your background, there is scope to develop further into other areas.

Key responsibilities

- Support the execution and administration of grain trades and contracts
- Maintain accurate contract, position and physical movement records
- Reconcile trading positions and investigate discrepancies
- Work with traders, clients, counterparties and service providers to resolve operational issues
- Develop an understanding of grain markets and the commercial drivers behind transactions
- Reconcile settlements,



invoices and accruals
- Investigate differences between contracts, movements, settlements and accounting records
- Support invoice preparation, validation and counterparty reporting
- Maintain and improve operational and commercial reporting
- Analyse datasets across contracts, positions, settlements and physical movements

About you

- 2-5 years' experience in operations, finance, accounting, commercial analysis, trading support or a similar role
- Solid Excel skills and confidence working with data
- An ability to investigate discrepancies and work logically through problemsStrong attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication
- A willingness to learn and work across different areas of a small business
- Experience in commodities, agriculture, financial markets or trading (useful but not essential)
- Exposure to settlements, contracts or reconciliations (useful but not essential)
- Power Query, SQL, Power BI, automation tools or basic coding (useful but not essential)
