MetfordCommunityBaptistChurch(MCBC)isseekingapassionateandmission-mindedAssociatePastor/MinistryWorkertojoinourministryteamandprovideleadershiptoourYouthandYoungAdultsinthegrowingMaitlandregionoftheHunterValley.Thisisanexcitingopportunitytohelpshapethespirituallivesofyoungpeoplewhilecontributingtothewidervisionandofourchurchasweseektoknow,love,andshareJesus.

WorkingcloselywiththeLeadPastor,churchleadership,volunteers,andourlocalChristianschoolcommunity(MaitlandChristianSchool),thesuccessfulapplicantwillplayasignificantroleindevelopingministriesthatreachyoungpeopleandsupportfamiliesbothwithinthechurchandthroughoutthewidercommunity.

PositionSummary

TheAssociatePastor/MinistryWorkerservesasakeymemberofthechurch'sministryteam,helpingyouthandyoungadultsgrowinfaith,connectmeaningfullywithchurchlife,andengagewiththewidercommunity.Thisrolenurturesdiscipleshippathways,strengthensrelationshipsacrossourchurchandschoolcommunities,andsupportstheongoingdevelopmentofourafternoonservice.

Thispositionisofferedonapart-timebasis(3daysperweek).RemunerationwillbeinaccordancewithNSW&ACTBaptistAssociationguidelines;,commensuratewithqualificationsandexperience.

KeyResponsibilities

YouthMinistryDevelopment

- Establishandleadaregularyouthministryprogramwithinthechurchandwidercommunity.




- Buildstrongrelationshipswithyoungpeopleandtheirfamilies.
- Createopportunitiesforevangelism,discipleship,mentoring,andleadershipdevelopment.
- Encourageyouthinvolvementinworship,service,andmission.

FamilyMinistry

- Providepastoralcaretoyouthandyoungadults.
- Helpyouthandtheirfamiliesconnectwiththeministriesandrhythmsofchurchlife.
- Supportyouthandtheirfamiliesintheirspiritualgrowthanddiscipleship.
- Developpathwaysthatassistyouthandyoungadultsastheytransitionintodeeperengagement.
- CollaboratewiththeLeadPastorinplanningourservices,andworkalongsidetheKingdomCrewLeaderandvolunteerteamsservinginyouthandfamiliesministriesastheseareascontinuetodevelop.

SchoolEngagement

- StrengthenministryconnectionswithMaitlandChristianSchool.
- Participateinchapels,assemblies,pastoralsupport,andotherrelationalopportunities.
- Buildmeaningfulconnectionswithstudents,families,andstaffthroughintentionalengagementatschoolandparentevents.

AfternoonServiceLeadership

- Leadanddevelopthechurch'safternoonservice,guidingittowardsustainablegrowthandhelpingitbecomeamoreregularservicethatsupportsconsistentattendanceamongnewpeople.
- Engageyoungadults,youth,andfamiliesthroughaccessibleandcreativeministryapproaches.
- Coordinatevolunteersandministryteamsinvolvedintheservice.

CommunityEngagement





- BuildrelationshipswithintheMetfordandMaitlandcommunities.
- Identifyopportunitiesforoutreachandcommunityconnection.
- Representthechurchincommunityactivitiesandpartnershipswhereappropriate.
- Developstrategiesforengagingunchurchedfamiliesandyoungpeoplewiththegospel.

Desirableskillsandexperience

- Arecognisedtheologicalqualification
- Previousexperienceinyouth,youngadults,family,school,orpastoralministry.
- Experienceworkingwithvolunteersandministryteams.
- UnderstandingofBaptistchurchlifeandgovernance.
