As the first point of contact for patients, you will help create a welcoming experience and support the smooth running of Dr Yezdi Mistry's specialist plastic surgery practice in Charlestown. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, has excellent attention to detail and approaches sensitive conversations with care and discretion.

Key responsibilities

- Welcoming patients and managing reception
- Answering telephone, email and online enquiries
- Booking consultations, procedures and follow-up appointments
- Managing surgical bookings and coordinating with hospitals and anaesthetists
- Processing Medicare claims and managing Medicare billing
- Managing referrals, patient records and correspondence
- Processing payments and assisting with billing and quotes
- Liaising with patients, referring practices and other healthcare providers




- Supporting patient enquiry follow-up and general administration
- Maintaining a tidy, organised reception and workspace

About you

- A warm, professional manner and transparent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload
- Accuracy, reliability and respect for patient confidentiality
- Confidence using computer systems and learning new software
- A supportive approach to teamwork and the initiative to work independently
- Previous medical reception experience, particularly in a specialist surgical practice, is highly regarded
- Familiarity with Xestro practice software, Medicare billing and surgical bookings would be an advantage
