Kitchen Garden At Rodney's is seeking a talented and energetic Cafe Supervisor to join our team in Pialligo, ACT. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to help lead our front-of-house operations and deliver exceptional customer experiences. As Cafe Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing our waiting staff, ensuring smooth service delivery, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. This role is integral to the success of our cafe, directly contributing to our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction in the hospitality sector.

Key responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate waiting staff, ensuring efficient and professional service delivery throughout all service periods
- Manage table allocations, seating arrangements and customer flow to optimise the dining experience
- Train, mentor and support waiting staff to maintain consistent service standards and hospitality excellence
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and feedback with professionalism and resolve issues promptly
- Monitor stock levels of beverages, glassware and dining essentials, placing orders as required
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations across the cafe
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and presentation of meals and beverages
- Manage reservations and walk-in customers to maintain full capacity and customer satisfaction
- Perform till reconciliation and manage payment processing at the end of service periods
- Create a welcoming and positive work environment, fostering teamwork and professional development among staff
- Liase with guests regarding functions and events

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in a supervisory or leadership role within a hospitality or cafe environment, ideally within waiting staff operations




- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and dining etiquette
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and staff
- Demonstrated ability to train, motivate and manage a team in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure
- High level of organisational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of health, safety and food hygiene regulationsBe willing to work weekends, public holidays and diverse shift patterns as required
