Know your way around production equipment and enjoy helping a team get the job done well?

We're recruiting for a practical, hands-on leader for an established production operation. You’ll work alongside and guide a small team, operate automated equipment, help diagnose and solve machinery problems, while finding ways to improve output safely.

This opportunity could suit an experienced Team Leader or a capable Senior Operator who already helps train others, takes ownership of problems and is ready for more responsibility.

Most of your day will be spent on the production floor, with time to process any administrative duties that come with the role. You’ll need to understand the equipment, provide clear direction and help your team maintain a consistent standard of work, setting the benchmark for the existing operational team.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Organising daily production activities and allocate work across a small team.
- Operating automated equipment, monitor performance and recognise when something needs attention.
- Helping resolve operating issues and work with maintenance to address machinery faults.
- Training and support operators, building their capability and confidence.
- Maintaining safe work practices, product quality and good housekeeping.
- Identifying practical improvements that reduce stoppages and improve production output.
- Completing production records, communicate explicit shift handovers and provide supervisor cover when required.

You’ll bring experience around automated production equipment, sound mechanical understanding and demonstrated ability to guide others.

We’re interested in how you’ve helped a team perform: training a new operator, working through a recurring equipment problem, improving a process or keeping production moving through a difficult shift.

Practical experience with lean, 5S or continuous improvement is important. Mechanical trade qualifications and a current forklift licence will be well regarded.

These roles offer scope to contribute ideas, develop other operators and build your leadership experience while remaining directly involved in production.
