About the role

Negri Contractors is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing civil construction projects and ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing on-site operations, coordinating teams, and maintaining strict adherence to health and safety regulations. This role is essential to our operational success and offers the prospect to make a tangible impact on significant infrastructure projects across the Melbourne region.

Key responsibilities

- Supervising and coordinating construction crews and subcontractors on civil construction sites to ensure efficient project delivery
- Monitoring progress against project schedules and budgets, reporting regularly to project management
- Conducting daily site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets specifications and contractual requirements
- Implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel
- Managing site logistics, including equipment, materials, and resource allocation
- Communicating with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide project updates
- Documenting site activities, incidents, and progress through detailed record-keeping and daily reports
- Training and mentoring crew members to develop their skills and promote best practices on site
- Identifying and resolving issues that may impact project delivery, safety, or quality

What we are looking for

- 5+ proven supervisory experience in civil construction or related construction disciplines




- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, processes, and industry standards
- Current or valid construction management qualifications or certifications relevant to civil works
- Working knowledge of OHS legislation
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation effectively
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams
- Problem-solving capabilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
- Proficiency with construction management software and site documentation tools
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites across Melbourne
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development within the construction industry
