Pot Depot WA is looking for an experienced, hands‑on Store Manager to lead our retail showroom and outdoor pottery yard in Balcatta. This is a wide-ranging leadership role for someone who enjoys working with customers, developing a team and keeping a busy retail operation running smoothly. You will have genuine responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the store, with the opportunity to improve systems, merchandising, customer service and sales. Working closely with the owner and Assistant Manager, you will lead from the front and help create an organised, welcoming and well‑run environment for both customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

Run daily store and yard operations, including opening, closing, security and setting priorities for the team.

Lead, roster, train and support staff, allocate daily tasks and maintain clear standards of service and presentation.

Help customers choose products, process sales and resolve enquiries, returns and customer issues professionally.

Coordinate incoming stock orders, container unloads, receiving, unpacking and storage; check quantities, damage and discrepancies.

Maintain accurate stock records, organise stocktakes and replenishment, and keep pricing, product labels and displays up to date.

Oversee POS transactions, cash handling and daily reconciliation, and support Lightspeed and Xero processes with accurate records.

Keep the shop, outdoor yard and displays clean, organised, safe and easy for customers to navigate.

Coordinate customer deliveries,



collections and dispatch, including scheduling, order accuracy and communication.

Monitor sales, stock movement, margins and store performance, and report priorities and issues to the owner.

Maintain workplace health and safety procedures, staff training and hazard reporting, including safe lifting, stock handling and vehicle movements.

About you

Experience managing a retail store, trade outlet, garden centre, homewares or bulky goods business, or a similar operation.

Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills, with good organisation and reliable follow-through.

A practical approach and willingness to work alongside the team indoors and outdoors, including moving and arranging pots using safe handling methods and equipment.

Confidence with POS systems, stock control, cash handling and basic reporting. Lightspeed experience is an advantage.

Initiative, sound judgement and a commitment to workplace safety.

A current driver's licence and availability to work on the alternating weekend roster or as required. A current forklift licence and relevant experience would be an advantage.

A key leadership role in a growing, locally owned business, with a supportive working relationship with the owner.

Weekend off, shared on rotation with the assistant manager.
