About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Hygiene Supervisor to lead our cleaning team at a busy food manufacturing facility in Ormeau.

This is a physically demanding role where you'll work alongside the team performing industrial cleaning and sanitation while also managing staff, coordinating daily activities and maintaining hygiene standards.

You'll work closely with the MJ Hygiene Site Manager and the customer's Site Supervisors and Quality Assurance team to review daily KPIs, pre-operational inspection results and opportunities for improvement.

Our key performance targets include pre-operational inspection scores above 95% and passing hygiene and microbiological swab results.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, train and supervise the cleaning team while actively participating in daily industrial cleaning.
- Coordinate staff allocations, cleaning schedules, labour hours and daily priorities.
- Conduct post-clean inspections, investigate hygiene failures and implement corrective actions.
- Work closely with the customer's Site Supervisors and Quality Assurance team to review daily hygiene KPIs and drive improvements.
- Liaise with the MJ Hygiene Site Manager regarding labour,



staff performance, cleaning results and operational concerns.
- Ensure correct chemical dosing, safe equipment operation and compliance with food safety, GMP and WHS procedures, including machinery isolation and lockout/tagout.
- Maintain accurate cleaning records, complete site lock-up and perform authorised boiler shutdown procedures.
- Act as the designated first aid officer and assist with emergency procedures.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people, isn't afraid of hard work and takes pride in maintaining high cleaning standards.

- Experience in food manufacturing hygiene, industrial cleaning or sanitation, with previous team leadership experience.
- Good understanding of food safety, GMP and cleaning verification.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve hygiene issues.
- Good communication and organisational skills, with confidence to manage daily operations and take accountability for results.
- Willingness and ability to perform physically demanding cleaning duties.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain before commencing.

Highly regarded: Experience with HACCP, food manufacturing quality assurance, hygiene inspections, chemical dosing systems or labour management.

Site-specific training will be provided for boiler shutdowns and lock-up procedures.
