Major data and analytics transformation

We are seeking a senior, hands-on data and business intelligence leader to guide end-to-end technical delivery across a major Data & Analytics Foundations Program. You will set technical direction, lead a multidisciplinary team and remain close enough to the detail to resolve complex modelling, semantic and reporting challenges.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role combines technical leadership, delivery accountability and practical consulting. You will help determine what can be delivered through the supported D&A; environment, identify dependencies outside scope and ensure solutions remain secure, maintainable and aligned to business outcomes.

WHAT YOU WILL DELIVER

- Lead integrated delivery across data modelling, engineering, governed semantic models, Power BI reporting, security, testing, deployment and handover.
- Translate business and analytical needs into approved data, measures, AI-ready semantic models, metadata, security, reconciliation and acceptance requirements suitable for governed analytics and AI-assisted exploration.
- Direct report rationalisation and development of reusable, visually compelling and governed reporting products, including appropriate natural-language exploration, narrative explanation, anomaly or driver analysis and guided analytical pathways.
- Retain technical design authority, accept technical quality and release readiness, and resolve cross-product design and delivery issues.




- Lead and mentor data engineering and Power BI specialists while coordinating estimates, sequencing, dependencies, risks and technical forecasts.
- Partner with senior business, data, analytics, healthcare, security and governance stakeholders as a trusted D&A; adviser.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

- Significant commercial experience leading complex data, analytics or BI delivery and multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Advanced hands-on Power BI semantic modelling, DAX, Power Query, calculation design and performance optimisation.
- Robust Microsoft Fabric, Medallion Architecture, dimensional modelling and data-engineering knowledge across Bronze, Silver and Gold layers.
- Strong requirements analysis, data visualisation, insight design, analytical storytelling, governance, security and delivery assurance, including responsible use of approved AI tools for analysis, documentation, testing and productivity.
- Confident stakeholder leadership, clear technical documentation and sound judgement in privacy-sensitive or regulated environments, ensuring AI-assisted outputs remain human-reviewed, traceable, explainable and validated against authoritative data and governed definitions.

HIGHLY REGARDED

Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, SQL, SAP BusinessObjects, Web Intelligence, SQL Server Reporting Services, healthcare, clinical or research reporting, and source-system migration or consolidation.

QUALIFICATIONS A current relevant Microsoft Fabric or Power BI certification is mandatory.
