Major data and analytics transformation

We are seeking an accomplished dimensional modeller and data engineer to lead the design of accurate, scalable and maintainable Silver and Gold structures for a major Data & Analytics Foundations Program. Modelling is the core of this role, supported by robust engineering judgement and hands-on delivery.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You will turn business and analytical meaning into durable, source-independent structures that support governed semantic models and reporting products. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders, explain trade-offs clearly and protect privacy across patient, clinician, financial and research domains.

WHAT YOU WILL DELIVER

- Lead conceptual and Kimball-aligned, AI-ready dimensional design across business processes, facts, dimensions, observable and explainable grain, governed semantics and metadata, conformed entities, hierarchies, keys, temporal meaning and historical treatment.
- Design source-independent Silver and Gold structures that preserve governed business meaning through source-system replacement, consolidation and change.
- Define traceable source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, reference-data and authoritative-source relationships, privacy-aware identity linkage, exception handling, reconciliation controls, lineage, quality, security and technical acceptance criteria.
- Assess source-aligned Bronze data for quality, history, lineage, granularity and fitness for approved analytical requirements.
- Direct and review engineering implementation, remaining hands-on for complex transformations,



performance, reconciliation and remediation.
- Maintain models, specifications, dictionaries, lineage, design decisions, reconciliation rules and known limitations, then complete a structured handover.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

- Significant commercial experience in dimensional modelling and data engineering for complex analytical environments.
- Advanced Kimball capability covering grain, conformed dimensions, surrogate keys, facts, hierarchies and historical treatment.
- Strong Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Medallion Architecture and Bronze, Silver and Gold implementation experience.
- Strong source-to-target mapping, data quality, lineage, identity resolution, reference-data and reconciliation capability, including responsible use of approved AI tools for profiling, mapping, documentation, test design and anomaly investigation.
- Ability to lead design authority, direct engineering implementation, mentor specialists and remain hands-on with complex delivery.
- Strong stakeholder communication, technical documentation and privacy-aware design for regulated information, with human review and governed approval before AI-assisted outputs affect designs, transformations, controls or acceptance evidence.

HIGHLY REGARDED

Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI and SQL-based platforms; source-system migration or consolidation; healthcare, clinical or research data; and privacy-sensitive or regulated environments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant Microsoft Fabric, Azure data, data-modelling or data-engineering certification is essential.
