We are seeking an experienced and passionate school leader for the role of College Principal at Northern Peninsula Area State College (NPAC).
NPAC is a Kindy to Year 12 College with 3 campuses. Ama Mary Eseli Injinoo and Bamaga Primary Campuses have Kindergarten to Year Six grades, while the Years Seven to Twelve secondary needs are met by the Senior Campus. All campuses are managed by a Head of Campus, with the College Principal overseeing strategic direction.
About us:
Northern Peninsula Area State College (NPAC) is an identified school participating in the Department of Education (DoE) Partnership Initiative (PI). Schools in communities that have a high degree of complexity and vulnerability receive prioritised support and resourcing and act as champions for the communities they serve as part of PI.
Under the current Partnership Initiative special purpose classification uplift, this substantive Level 6 position has received a top-up to be remunerated as a Level 8. This special purpose classification level uplift arrangement is intended to retain and attract school leaders who can drive improvements in learning and life outcomes through a system wide approach within PI schools and their communities.
To recognise service in PI schools locations, the following mobility arrangements will apply for permanent principals (from the effective date):
- After a minimum of two years' service at a PI school, a permanent principal seeking transfer will be entitled to have their substantive Principal classification level permanently increased by one level above the PI school's substantive classification level. For example, if the PI school's substantive classification level is Level 6, the special purpose classification uplift level is Level 8. A permanent principal would be transferred at classification Level 7.
- Principals who transfer out of a PI school with less than two years of service will be transferred at their substantive Principal classification level, unless a prior agreement is in place.
NPAC is located in Bamaga which is a discrete Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community located on Cape York Peninsula about 40 kilometres from the northern tip of Cape York. NPAC supports students from the Northern Peninsula Area (NPA) communities of Bamaga, Injinoo, Umagico, Current Mapoon and Seisia.
