About the role

Reporting to the Practice Manager and working alongside Dentists, Hygienists and Oral Health Therapists, you'll assist chairside across general, restorative and crown and bridge work, as well as implants, endodontics and oral surgery. You'll set the standard for chairside care and infection control, and train and support the DA team as it grows.

Key responsibilities

- Assist chairside across general, restorative and crown and bridge work, as well as implants, endodontics and oral surgery

- Take ownership of sterilisation and infection control to AS 5369, including audits and records

- Train and induct new dental assistants, and keep each clinician's set-up guides up to date

- Manage stock and ordering, and keep surgeries and the sterilisation room well maintained

- Help on reception and with administrative tasks when needed

About you

- A Certificate III in Dental Assisting, or at least four years' chairside experience working to Australian infection control standards

- Confidence with implants, endodontics, oral surgery, and crown and bridge

- Solid sterilisation and infection control skills to Australian Standards (AS 5369)

- A high level of attention to detail

- Well organised and self-directed, able to manage your own time and priorities

- A self-starter who keeps learning

- Happy to help on reception and with administrative work when needed

- Full Australian working rights, with no restrictions on hours

- Reliable transport for early starts





- Willing to provide evidence of healthcare worker immunisations before starting

A Certificate IV in Dental Assisting, experience training other dental assistants, Dental4Windows (D4W), a radiography licence, and reception experience are all an advantage.

Oval Dental is a friendly, fast-paced general practice on O'Connell Street, North Adelaide. Our team of two dentists, two hygienists and two oral health therapists provides the full range of general dentistry in house, with a strong interest in endodontics and implants.
