About the Role
MSS Security is seeking professional, reliable and customer-focused Terminal Security Officers to join our team at Hobart International Airport.
This role provides a visible security presence throughout the airport terminal and surrounding precinct.Duties include but are not limited to:* Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads and car parks.
* Monitor and report security, safety and operational concerns and respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
* Apply effective verbal deescalation and conflict resolution techniques when responding to challenging or escalating behaviours.
* Engage respectfully with passengers experiencing distress and provide first aid when required.
* Maintain accurate security logs,
patrol records and incident reports.Ideal candidates will have:* Confidence applying deescalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour without unnecessarily escalating a situation.
* Patience, empathy and the ability to communicate respectfully with vulnerable or distressed people.
* Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support or another public-facing operational environment will be highly regarded.
Requirements:
* Full Australian working rights.
* A current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
* A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
* Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
* Ability to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.Master Licence Number: 5784##
