Casual Position

Ember Byron Bay is looking for a kitchenhand or Kitchenhand/Cook to join our team.

We’re a restaurant grown through great produce, fire, meat, wine and seriously good hospitality — and we’re looking for people who are passionate about what they do.

This is a casual position suited to a who wants to work where they are respected & appreciated in a professional, high-quality kitchen without the ego.

THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for supporting the kitchen team daily ensuring a smooth operational flow.

You'll be involved in:

- Kitchen washup & some food preparation and service (cook only)
- Working cleanly and efficiently throughout service
- Stock preparation, rotation and minimising waste
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Contributing to a positive and professional kitchen culture

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need to be a superstar — but you do need to care.

We're looking for someone with:

- Previous commercial kitchen experience (helps but not essential)
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene (or can be taught quickly)
- Excellent attention to detail




- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Valuable communication and teamwork
- A willingness to learn and improve
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
