Summary:
The Accounts assistant role is essential to our company, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This position supports the financial operations by maintaining vendor relationships and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounts department. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing cash flow and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Process payments for Neumann Contractors
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile monthly purchase cards
- Assist in month-end closing processes and reporting
- Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries
- Support the finance team with audits and compliance checks
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
- Assist with payroll support on a regular basis
- Support the broader accounts team (where required)
Essential criteria:
- Minimum 5 years of accounts experience.
- Sound knowledge of business systems.
Desirable Criteria:
- JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience would be an advantage.
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance (preferred but not mandatory).
Skills and attributes:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Computer literacy, ERP system experience, Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player.
- High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Robust time management and prioritisation skills.
- Able to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing business needs.
- Proven organisation and administration skills.
