Build your next career chapter delivering mission-critical cooling infrastructure at hyperscale.
If you enjoy complex mechanical projects, solving delivery challenges and seeing your decisions turn into progress on site, this opportunity deserves your attention.
NEXERA Talent is partnering with a specialist mechanical services contractor to recruit a Project Manager for an upcoming hyperscale campus in the Hunter region.
The development includes an initial 350MW phase, with four phases planned to run concurrently across a programme from Q4 2026 through to 2030. The mechanical package is expected to be awarded imminently, with engineering and BIM activities set to commence promptly following award.
You will manage the day-to-day delivery of an assigned project or mechanical scope, working closely with senior project leadership, engineering, site management and a dedicated prefabrication team.
Why make this move?
- Work on major cooling infrastructure: Gain exposure to large central plant, liquid cooling systems, prefabricated modules and extensive mechanical pipework.
- Take ownership of delivery: Manage your scope across procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
- Develop your project capability: Work alongside specialist engineering, BIM, QA/QC and commissioning teams.
- Connect fabrication with site delivery: Coordinate prefabricated modules and pipework from design through dispatch and installation.
- Join a substantial development: Contribute to a campus with a planned programme extending through to 2030.
What you will do
- Manage day-to-day delivery of your assigned scope against programme, cost, safety and quality requirements.
- Translate coordinated engineering and BIM documentation into practical delivery plans.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries,
submittals and scope coordination.
- Run procurement schedules, compare supplier and subcontractor packages, and manage purchase orders.
- Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, site teams and prefabrication interfaces.
- Track costs, commitments and forecasts, and prepare cashflow and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Prepare variations, progress claims and contractual documentation for review.
- Lead and develop Project Engineers assigned to your scope.
- Coordinate inspections, commissioning readiness and staged handover documentation.
What you will bring
- Six or more years in mechanical services project management, including at least three years as a Project Manager on commercial or Tier 1 projects.
- A degree in mechanical engineering, construction management or a related discipline, or a trade qualification supported by equivalent experience.
- Strong mechanical services knowledge and practical understanding of construction delivery.
- Working knowledge of construction contracts, variations, progress claims and commercial reporting.
- Experience using Pronto or a comparable ERP system.
- A current NSW driver licence.
- Clear communication, sound organisation and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving.
Data centre or mission-critical project experience is preferred. Solid candidates from technically demanding hospital, mining, infrastructure or heavy-industry projects are also encouraged to apply.
