Just for u Care is a Melbourne-based, government-approved in-home care provider. Through the Support at Home program, we help older Australians stay safe, independent and connected at home. Demand for our services is growing, and we’re investing in our team and systems to deliver the same high standard of care as we expand.
About the role
We’re looking for a warm, organised Intake Officer to be the first point of contact for older people and their families who are looking for support at home. You’ll guide each new client from their first conversation through to a smooth handover to one of our Care Consultants, so nobody falls through the cracks and every client feels looked after from day one.
This is a new role, created to give every enquiry the attention it deserves and to free up our Care Consultants to focus on the clients they already support. You’ll have real input into shaping how intake works here.
The role is a mix of office-based work and visits to clients’ homes to meet them and their families and complete sign-ups.
Key responsibilities
Respond promptly to enquiries from older people, families, hospitals, assessors and referrers by phone and email
Explain our services and how Support at Home funding works, in plain language
Gather client information, confirm classification and funding, and complete intake paperwork
Coordinate service agreements and onboarding documentation
Visit new clients in their homes to complete assessments and sign-ups
Hand current clients over to the right Care Consultant with everything they need to start well
Keep accurate records in our client management system and follow up on outstanding enquiries
Build relationships with referrers, assessors and community partners
About you
Experience in intake, client services, care coordination or customer-facing administration, ideally in aged care or community services
A good understanding of Support at Home and the aged care system, or a willingness to learn quickly
A calm, friendly manner on the phone. You enjoy talking with older people and their families and can handle sensitive conversations with care
Highly organised, with strong follow-through and attention to detail
Confident with technology and client management systems
A current driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
Current National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months), or the ability to obtain one
Permanent part-time role, 3 days a week
$40–$45 per hour + super
Performance bonuses
Kilometre reimbursement for work travel
A supportive team where your work is visible and valued
The chance to shape a brand-new role in a growing business
