Brooklea Lifestyle Village is seeking a motivated and practical Groundskeeper / Gardener to join our team. You’ll play an important role in maintaining the presentation of our village, helping ensure our gardens, grounds and shared outdoor spaces remain welcoming, tidy and enjoyable for residents, visitors and staff.

About the Role

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the village grounds, gardens and outdoor facilities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, can work independently and takes a proactive approach to maintaining a high standard of presentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain lawns, gardens, footpaths and common outdoor areas.
- Operate ride-on and push mowers, whipper snippers and other gardening equipment.
- Weed garden beds, mulch gardens, prune hedges and maintain plants.
- Water and care for potted plants and landscaped areas.
- Apply herbicides safely and appropriately, in accordance with relevant requirements.




- Maintain and lay irrigation lines as required.
- Clean and maintain the village pool and surrounding area.
- Keep entrances, pathways and communal areas clean, tidy and free of leaves and rubbish.
- Collect, sort and dispose of rubbish, including putting bins out for daily collection.
- Clean and maintain the village brook and surrounding areas.
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks as directed by the Site Manager.
- Interact with residents and visitors in a friendly, respectful and helpful manner.
- Follow workplace health, safety and environmental procedures and promptly report hazards or incidents.

Other reasonable duties may be assigned by the Site Manager or General Manager as required.

About You

You are someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in a job well done and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, attractive and welcoming environment.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- At least 2 years' experience in a similar groundskeeping, gardening or maintenance role.
- Practical gardening and general maintenance skills.
- Experience in herbicide application and an understanding of safe handling practices.
- The ability to operate lawn mowers, whipper snippers and other gardening equipment safely.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise daily tasks.
- The ability to work independently while also being a supportive member of the team.
- A reliable, positive and proactive attitude.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, respectful approach when dealing with residents, visitors and colleagues.
- A robust commitment to workplace health and safety.

Relevant licences, tickets or qualifications will be highly regarded.
