Surf Coast Secondary College cultivates a thriving community of learners who embrace challenge, uphold values of respect, and strive for academic excellence.
Academic excellence is our aspiration. We are committed to providing a world‑class education that empowers our students with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Our dedicated educators inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning, driving our students to achieve their highest potential.
Respect is the cornerstone of our school's culture. We foster an environment where every member of our school community, is treated with dignity and kindness. Through respect, we aim to nurture a sense of belonging and acceptance among our students, staff, and families.
Challenge is an essential element in our pursuit of academic excellence. We believe that it is through embracing challenges that personal growth is ignited. These challenges, whether academic or personal, provide opportunities for our students to discover their true potential and develop the resilience and determination needed to excel in an ever‑changing world. The entire staff at Surf Coast Secondary College believes in the premise that the more actively a student participates, the more they will enjoy their studies, which more than often translates into achieving excellence, greater depth of learning and will guide them towards being a life long learner.
At the beginning of 2014 SCSC moved to its recent home in a state‑of‑the‑art learning and teaching facility in Torquay. Now, our facilities enhance our learning programs, such as our sports, art,
and select entry enrichment and extension learning (SEEELP) programs, as well as our coastal environmental centre and shared state of the art sports facilities with the local shire allow our teachers to connect our students' learning to their lives, strengths and passions.
Surf Coast Secondary College is keen to continue to attract high performing staff who are committed to supporting students to be creative, deep learners with a strong social conscience. Surf Coast Secondary College has a high expectation that all staff will work hard to further develop the learning and teaching philosophies of the school and support students to truly reach their academic and social potential.

Role
The postion may require hours to be worked during non school periods, depending on the operational needs of the school, with the specific arrangements to be negotiated with the Business Manager or Principal.
Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field. It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs.

Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice, although this will generally be confined to matters relating to the immediate work area, service provision or educational program and is unlikely to impact substantially on whole of school operations.
This is the minimum range for positions that carry a mandatory qualification requirement of not less than four years. Professional student support positions become a feature at range 3 (e.g. therapists, psychologists) where standard professional services are delivered. Professional support and guidance will be close at hand and deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction fro
