Job Description

ACAPS is an Automotive Electrical & Air conditioning company based in Sydney Australia specialises in Heavy vehicle Air Conditioning & Refrigeration including a wide range of air conditioning service parts, compressor parts, drive belts, actuator motors, and solenoid valves. They offer products related to climate control, electrical panels, and various types of refrigerants, among other components. Targeting automotive and refrigeration sectors, ACAPS serves clients including vehicle manufacturers and repair shops.

ACAPS is seeking experience and qualified Refrigeration Technician to join their team. As a refrigeration technician, you will be responsible for processing and completing work orders, installing recent refrigeration systems, troubleshooting mechanical failures, and performing equipment maintenance.

Key Duties

- Install air conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment in industrial, commercial, domestic, and transportation settings including vehicles such as buses and trucks
- Assemble components and parts to construct air conditioning and refrigeration systems including wiring, duct fitting, and insulation work
- Identify and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults to facilitate prompt and effective repairs




- Repair and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration components such as compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators and pumps
- Repair and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration lines used for refrigerant, liquids and gases in the air conditioning, heating or cooling process
- Test operational air conditioning and refrigeration systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
- Fill systems with gas or fluid to check for leaks, and remove gas and fluids with vacuum pumps
- Recover and fill refrigerant in air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Provide support in emergency breakdown services
- Maintain proper documentation of service and spare parts

Requirements

- Trade qualification or equivalent
- Proven work experience in the same field
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct quality checks on completed work
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent work ethics

Salary: Between $75,000 and $85,000 per annum + Super
