Murrabit Group School, situated in the heart of the Murrabit township, continues to be a community-focused educational hub. It is an amazing learning space where individualised education and relationship building is key every day and students show gratitude, empathy and mindfulness.

Positioned 3km from the Murray River in Northern Victoria, 30km north of Kerang, and 21km west of Koondrook, Murrabit Group School serves a farming community, with many of our students commuting via bus.

In 2026 Murrabit Group School has a school population of 23 students and a SFO index of 0.48. It had a Principal who taught small group numeracy, two classroom teachers Prep - 3 (O.4/0.06) and Gr 4 - 6 (1.0), Italian/Music teacher (1.0), Business Manager (0.4), and two ES Staff (1.0 and 0.8) It operated with a Prep to 3 classroom of 10 students and a Gr 4 ¿ 6 classroom of 13 students. The students were serviced by a MARC Van and MACC Van.

In 2025, the school completed a comprehensive School Review which involved all stakeholders including staff, parents and students. The review came back with two goals for the next four years which were: Goal 1 - Maximise the learning growth of every student. Goal 2 - Optimise the well-being and engagement of all students.

With a core focus on English and Mathematics, the curriculum is enriched by various programs, including visits from the MARC Van (Library), MACC Van (Art), Music/Italian teacher, intensive swimming program, fitness program, Stephanie Alexander Garden, Tutoring Program, Resilience Project and Smiling Minds. The school community at Murrabit Group School reflects a sense of belonging, pride, and belief in the school.

The school introduced an Out of School Care (OSHC) Program in 2024, which has been sustained in 2025 and 2026. Up to 12 students utilise the program.

A shared commitment to wellbeing has fostered a positive culture where everyone feels valued and supported, contributing to the overall success of our students. Building staff cohesion, trust and understanding of agreed structures has been the basis to move forward to a tiered approach to improving student outcomes in wellbeing. The school enjoys support from parents, the broader community and organisations such as the Murrabit Advancement Association, contributing to the holistic education of all students.
