An Exciting Opportunity for 2027

With our new in-house Safer Community service set to launch in early 2027, now is the perfect time to explore your next career opportunity with Curtin University. We're recruiting ahead of this exciting transition, giving successful candidates the opportunity to join a newly established team and help shape the future of our Safer Community service at the Kalgoorlie Campus.

About the Role

We are seeking Safer Community Officers to join Curtin University as we establish our in-house Safer Community service at the Kalgoorlie Campus.

As a Safer Community Officer, you will provide a visible, approachable and reassuring presence across campus, supporting the safety, security and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors.

- Provide safety escorts and assistance to members of the Curtin community.
- Communicate information about Safer Community services and maintain a visible and approachable presence on campus.

- Record details of incidents and unusual occurrences accurately.
- Assist senior colleagues in responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Guide emergency service vehicles responding to incidents on campus.
- Assist with special events, functions, VIP visits and traffic management where required.
- Provide immediate response, triage and appropriate referral for people experiencing welfare or wellbeing concerns.
- Support general campus safety and security activities as required.
