JSC Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Labourer in Civil and Concrete to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on position based in Canberra, ACT, where you will play a vital role in supporting our civil and concrete construction projects. As a casual team member, you will have great hours in your working arrangements whilst contributing to the successful delivery of our projects. This role is essential to ensuring that our construction sites operate safely and efficiently, with high-quality concrete work that meets industry standards.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and maintaining work sites, including cleaning, levelling, and organising materials and equipment
- Assisting in the setting up and removal of formwork and scaffolding for concrete structures
- Supporting the pouring, spreading, and finishing of concrete in accordance with project specifications
- Operating and maintaining hand tools and power tools relevant to concrete and civil work
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment from vehicles and moving them around site as required
- Assisting skilled tradespeople with various tasks including excavation, compacting, and site preparation
- Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all health and safety regulations and site procedures
- Reporting any hazards, accidents, or near-misses to site supervisors immediately
- Following instructions from supervisors and contributing to the team's overall productivity

What we're looking for

- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks, including heavy lifting and working in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work outdoors on construction sites in a fast-paced environment




- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly
- Ability to work safely and a commitment to health and safety practices
- Reliability and punctuality, especially significant for casual work arrangements
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced team members
- Previous experience in civil construction or concrete work is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Current driver's licence is preferred for site-based roles
- Relevant construction qualifications or certifications (such as White Card/Construction Induction Card) are highly valued
