About the Company
We are partnering with a highly successful, Australian-owned B2B SaaS company that develops market-leading, cloud-based compliance management solutions. With a nationwide footprint, they are expanding their technical team in Canberra. This is a purely commercial tech environment, meaning you get to work on complex, large-scale systems without the need for a restrictive government security clearance.
The Role
This is a fully office-based position (5 days onsite in Canberra), offering a highly cooperative environment. It is a hybrid hands-on and strategic role tailored for an experienced QA professional who wants to take true ownership of a testing function. You won't just be maintaining legacy scripts, you will evaluate the current QA landscape, select the best tools, and build a scalable, reusable automation framework from the ground up.
Operating within a modern C# / .NET environment, you will champion a "shift-left" testing culture, acting as the primary quality advocate and mentoring internal development teams on automation best practices.
What you will be doing
- Review and assess the existing QA landscape to design and implement a long-term test automation strategy.
- Build, scale, and maintain a robust testing framework (UI and API) from scratch using C# and Selenium.
- Integrate automated test suites seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines (using tools like Docker, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Drive backend validation using REST API clients and libraries (Postman, RestSharp).
- Develop performance benchmarking and load testing suites (e.g., JMeter).
- Collaborate face-to-face with cross-functional Agile teams to embed quality practices early in the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor quality metrics, identify test coverage gaps, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for quarterly software releases.
What you bring to the table
- Proven track record in a Senior QA, SDET, or Test Automation Strategy role, with experience building test frameworks from the ground up.
- Strong hands-on coding proficiency in C# / .NET (essential).
- Deep expertise with UI and API automation tools (e.g., Selenium with C#, Cypress, Postman, RestSharp).
- Solid practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and ideally containerization (Docker).
- Familiarity with performance testing and test case management tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence developers and business leaders alike.
- Ability and willingness to work 5 days a week from the Canberra office.
