William Waters Shop Fitters is a family-owned Melbourne business that has been building retail environments since 1954. Based in the eastern suburbs, we deliver complete pharmacy fit-outs, retail refurbishments and bespoke commercial joinery. As we enter a recent phase of growth, we're looking for a Cabinet Maker - Shopfitter to join the team.
About the role
Build it in our factory, then install it on site. A hands-on role for a cabinet maker who takes pride in the finish, working in a skilled shopfitting team and reporting to the Factory Manager.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret drawings and sketches, query any inaccuracies and plan each piece with a set-out plan
- Calculate materials, cut with minimal waste and request stock when needed
- Construct cabinets and joinery to the highest industry standards, with accurate joints, correct laminate work and hardware aligned and adjusted
- Complete job time and materials sheets accurately
- Plan, co-ordinate and install shop fittings as part of a team
- Take occasional client requests on site
- Keep the workshop and site clean and safe
- Maintain on-site equipment
About you
- Trade qualification in Cabinet Making or a related discipline
- Previous employment in a similar role
- Knowledge of timber, board products, laminate, adhesives and hardware used in commercial cabinet making and shopfitting
- Understanding of construction drawings, sketches and set-out plans
- Familiar with OH&S; and safe work practices in the factory and on site
- Clear communicator and team player who solves problems methodically
- Professional, detail-focused and able to work under pressure
- Construction White Card and Victorian driver's licence
