BRIDGE SAW OPERATOR - STONE MASON COMPANY - GOLD COAST
About the role
This is a hands-on production role suited to someone with experience cutting and processing stone and who takes pride in accuracy, efficiency and quality workmanship. Your duties will include operating a bridge saw to cut stone accurately to job specifications, cutting and processing engineered stone, natural stone, porcelain and other stone products, reading and interpreting plans, cutting lists and job specifications, measuring and checking dimensions before and after cutting, setting up jobs and ensuring cuts are completed accurately and efficiently, handling stone safely throughout the cutting and production process, carrying out general machinery checks and maintaining a clean and safe work area, working closely with the factory and production team to meet job schedules, and following all workplace health and safety requirements, including silica control procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Operating a bridge saw to cut stone accurately to job specifications
- Cutting and processing engineered stone, natural stone, porcelain and other stone products
- Reading and interpreting plans, cutting lists and job specifications
- Measuring and checking dimensions before and after cutting
- Setting up jobs and ensuring cuts are completed accurately and efficiently
- Handling stone safely throughout the cutting and production process
- Carrying out general machinery checks and maintaining a clean and safe work area
- Working closely with the factory and production team to meet job schedules
- Following all workplace health and safety requirements, including silica control procedures
About you
- Previous experience operating a bridge saw within the stone masonry industry
- Experience working with stone benchtops and related products
- Strong measuring skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to read plans and cutting information accurately
- Good understanding of stone fabrication and production processes
- A solid focus on safety and quality
- Reliability and the ability to work as part of a team
- Current White Card
- Forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential
