About Nextgen Montessori

Following the overwhelming response to our first purpose-built Montessori centre in Truganina, Nextgen Montessori is continuing its growth with our next centre in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs, opening in December 2026.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Centre Manager to lead the centre, build a strong team and culture, and bring the Nextgen Montessori philosophy to the community in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs. This is an opportunity to do more than manage a centre — you will play a key role in shaping its future.

The Role

As Centre Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, day-to-day operations, compliance and performance of the centre.

Working closely with the Nextgen Montessori management and educational leadership teams, you will lead the implementation of our culture, systems, standards and Montessori philosophy while creating an environment where educators feel supported, accountable and motivated to deliver high-quality outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Culture

•Lead, mentor and support educators and the centre leadership team.

•Build a positive, professional and collaborative workplace culture.

•Manage recruitment, onboarding, rostering, performance management and professional development.

•Maintain strong staff engagement, accountability and communication.

Operations & Compliance

•Oversee the effective day-to-day operation of the centre.

•Maintain high standards of compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National

Quality Framework,

National Quality Standard and Child Secure Standards.

•Ensure policies, procedures and operational standards are consistently implemented.

•Lead preparation for compliance visits and the Assessment and Rating process.

•Confidently engage with the Department of Education and other relevant regulatory bodies.

•Maintain appropriate staffing levels, ratios and effective roster management.

Educational Leadership

•Work closely with the Educational Leader and educators to embed the Nextgen Montessori educational philosophy.

•Support high-quality educational programs aligned with the EYLF, NQS and Montessori principles.

•Promote reflective practice, continuous improvement and professional learning.

Families, Enrolments & Centre Performance

•Build strong and respectful relationships with children, families and the local community.

•Maintain open and effective communication with families and respond professionally to feedback and concerns.

•Oversee enquiries, centre tours, enrolments, orientations and waitlists.

•Drive occupancy and support sustainable centre growth.

•Monitor key centre performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.

•Oversee centre administration, CCS requirements, parent statements and accounts.

About You

We are looking for a confident early childhood leader who combines strong operational knowledge with excellent people and communication skills.

•Demonstrated experience as a Centre Manager, Centre Director, Assistant Manager/2IC or senior leader within early childhood education and care.

•Strong leadership and people-management skills.

•Thorough knowledge of the National Law and Regulations, NQF, NQS, EYLF and Child Safe Standards.

•Experience with centre operations, compliance, staffing, rostering, enrolments and family relationships.

•Confidence working with the Department of Education and preparing for Assessment and Rating.

•Strong organisational, administrative and financial management skills.

•Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

•A proactive and solutions-focused approach to leadership.

•A commitment to high-quality early childhood education and continuous improvement.

Previous Montessori experience is highly regarded but is not essential. What matters is your willingness to embrace the

Montessori philosophy and your ability to lead and support your team in delivering the Nextgen Montessori approach.
