We are offering an exciting traineeship opportunity within our warm and welcoming team — perfect for a recent school leaver looking to begin a meaningful career in early childhood education.

At Caringbah South Preschool, we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing, educational, and joyful environment where children always come first. Our centre operates 50 weeks per year from 8:00am to 5:00pm, catering for children aged 2 to 5 years. We are committed to ensuring every child feels safe, secure, and supported, while developing a strong sense of belonging, emotional wellbeing, and respect for their environment and community.

The Role

As a Childcare Trainee, you will support the education and care of children aged 2–5 years. Your responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring children are safe, supported, and adequately supervised at all times
- Building positive relationships and interacting meaningfully with children
- Assisting in planning and implementing engaging learning experiences
- Being proactive in contributing ideas for activities, craft, and play-based learning
- Supporting children’s social interactions and guiding behaviour positively




- Hosting group times and participating in daily routines
- Assisting with nappy changing and toileting routines
- Preparing and setting up beds for rest time
- Serving and assisting with meals (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea)
- Setting up and packing away educational activities
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
- Assisting with documentation and daily written records
- General cleaning duties throughout the day and at closing

Requirements

- Ability to commit to an 18-month traineeship
- Willingness to learn and complete formal study alongside practical work
