As Chef / Cook at beachside Café, you'll help lead the day-to-day kitchen operation and create delicious, consistent food for locals, holidaymakers and regular café guests in a busy breakfast and lunch café located in South West Rocks, NSW, right opposite the beach.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch service for a very busy coastal café
- Delivering food that is fresh, generous and beautifully presented
- Helping maintain a calm, organised and positive kitchen workplace
- Managing preparation, stock control and ordering
- Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Reducing waste and supporting efficient kitchen operations
- Working closely with front-of-house team
- Sharing ideas for specials, seasonal dishes and menu improvements
- Following NSW Food Safety Standards at all times
About you
- Strong experience in a small fast paced café kitchen
- Solid experience with breakfast and lunch service
- A genuine love of fresh, quality food
- Good organisation, communication and time-management skills
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team
- A positive, hands-on attitude and a commitment to great customer experiences
- Availability to work weekends as part of the roster
