Katherine Women’s Crisis Centre (KWCC) provides safe, secure, and supportive accommodation and services for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. We are committed to trauma-informed, culturally safe, and child-centred practice and work collaboratively with local and regional partners to improve safety and wellbeing.

About the Role

KWCC is seeking a Children’s Counsellor to join our team. The role provides therapeutic counselling and support to children who have experienced domestic and family violence, working closely with women, families, and partner services to promote safety, healing, and positive developmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide trauma-informed counselling to children impacted by domestic and family violence

· Conduct assessments and contribute to individual and group programs

· Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and professional reports

· Advocate for children within service systems and professional networks

· Work collaboratively within all KWCC’s teams.

· Build and maintain effective partnerships with community and family services

About You





· Diploma of Counselling or higher qualification

· Experience counselling children affected by trauma and family violence

· Robust assessment, documentation, and report-writing skills

· Knowledge of trauma-informed, child-centred practice

· Commitment to cultural safety, inclusion, and child-safe practice

Mandatory Requirements

· National Criminal History Check

· Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card)

· Current NT Driver’s Licence
