Danca Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer / Setter to join our skilled trades team in Girraween, NSW. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, operating and programming advanced CNC machinery to produce precision components and fittings. Your expertise will directly impact the quality and efficiency of our production processes, contributing to our reputation for excellence in the fasteners and fittings industry.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machine tools including mills, lathes and turning centers to manufacture precision components and fittings
- Program CNC machines using CAM software and G-code to specifications, optimizing toolpaths for efficiency and accuracy
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure manufactured parts meet exact tolerances and quality requirements
- Perform routine maintenance and tool changes on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Conduct regular quality inspections and measurements using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers and gauges
- Troubleshoot and resolve CNC programming and machine operation issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, materials used and any adjustments made
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet delivery schedules and production targets
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, protected working environment
What we're looking for
- Trade qualification or equivalent experience in CNC machining, toolmaking or mechanical engineering
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist with demonstrated proficiency in setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes
- Strong programming skills in G-code and experience with CAM software packages
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and measurement techniques
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Valid driver's license and willingness to comply with all workplace health and safety requirements
- Experience with DMG Mori and Doosan machines would be an advantage
