Lead recruitment and workforce mobilisation for a growing Aboriginal-owned construction business.

The opportunity

Koomba Bidi is seeking an experienced, hands-on Recruitment & Mobilisation Lead to take ownership of recruitment delivery, onboarding and workforce mobilisation across our growing operations. You will work closely with operational leaders to turn upcoming project requirements into practical recruitment plans and get the right people ready for work, safely and on time.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-moving contracting environment, brings structure and accountability to workflows, and is confident stepping in to solve problems rather than simply reporting them.

Koomba Bidi is an Aboriginal-owned construction business operating across Western Australia. We support clients in mining, infrastructure, defence, utilities and government through Civil & Construction works, plant hire and workforce solutions.

What you will own

Manage recruitment from approved vacancy through sourcing, screening, selection, references and offer coordination for blue-collar and white-collar positions.

Work with Operations and project managers to maintain a rolling workforce forecast, priority vacancies and realistic recruitment timelines.

Coordinate mobilisation and onboarding, including medicals, inductions, licences, tickets, competency records, site access and client-specific requirements.

Own a central recruitment and mobilisation tracker, with clear owners, deadlines, progress updates and early escalation of risks.





Lead and support recruitment / mobilisation administration staff or external partners as the function develops.

Build talent pipelines, including local and Aboriginal employment pathways, and support redeployment opportunities between projects.

Improve systems, templates, communications and handovers to deliver a consistent candidate experience and audit-ready records.

Report on time to hire, readiness for planned starts, recruitment activity, bottlenecks and continuous improvements.

What you bring

Demonstrated end-to-end recruitment experience in civil construction, mining, resources, labour hire or another fast-paced operational business.

Practical mobilisation experience, including client site requirements and pre-employment compliance.

Experience guiding a small team or coordinating recruiters, administrators or external recruitment suppliers.

Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder management; comfortable challenging unrealistic timeframes and following issues through to closure.

Confidence with Microsoft 365, applicant tracking systems and live workforce / compliance registers.

A proactive, commercially aware approach with robust attention to detail and sound judgement.

You will have genuine ownership of a business-critical function, direct access to the leadership team and the opportunity to shape how recruitment and mobilisation operate as Koomba Bidi grows.
