Our client is a growing Sydney law firm with a dedicated Crime practice. They are looking for a Criminal Lawyer with 2 to 5 years PAE who wants more than file work: regular time in court, direct responsibility for clients and a broad mix of criminal, traffic and regulatory matters, with the Crime Practice Leader backing you directly.

About the role
You will manage a varied criminal law caseload and appear regularly in the NSW Local Court. Your work will include:
- Criminal law proceedings in the Local, District and Supreme Courts
- Traffic and driving law matters, including licence appeals and serious traffic offences
- Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) proceedings
- Bail applications
- Sentence proceedings and defended hearings
- Appeals and conviction reviews
- Regulatory and quasi-criminal matters
You will have direct client contact,
responsibility for progressing your own matters and practical support from the Crime Practice Leader when you need it.
What you'll bring
- 2 to 5 years PAE in criminal law, ideally with traffic and regulatory exposure
- Admission to practise in NSW with a current practising certificate
- Confidence on your feet and a genuine appetite for regular court appearances
- Robust negotiation and advocacy skills
- A collaborative approach and the drive to take ownership of your own files
- Happy to work from the office, as this is a fully office-based role
